The site of the caiman pond of Ouessè/Savalou
This tourist site is located in the commune of Svalou, district of Ouessè, just et the entrance to the forest called Dèhouinzoun. The caiman pond of Ouessè/Savalou, is a site that is full of enough caimans. Indeed on this site, it is strictly forbidden to kill the caimans to avoid the curse according to legend. However, the water of the pond is used by local residents and its consumption even cures certain diseases.
SITE OF THE OIL PALM TREE AT SEVEN (07) HEADS
This site is located in the village of Miniki, district of Kpataba, commune of Savalou. It is a site that is teeming with people because the inhabitants of this village worship the palm tree. To get to this site, you have to climb to the heights of the Savalou agglomeration. Going back in history, this palm tree had only one trunk at the beginning. But decades later, nein (09) trunks appeared. Intrigued, the villagers who took the path that passes in front of this tree avery day to go to the backwater, decided to cut down two of the nine truks, because the were obstructing it, the two cut trunks grew back above the other seven. Since then, the inhabitants of this village and other people go there to worship and entrust their intentions to this palm tree with seven trunks.
Site of the twin hills of Kpataba/Savalou
This site is located in the commune of Savalou, district of Kpataba, precisly in the village of Miniki. Indeed, this site constitutes a pair of hills which are according to legend, a male and a female. Ceremonies are carried out there avery year and they are marked by a large bush fire which lights up the entire disctrict.
