GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF MAHI
The Mahi are a people of Benin. They live north of Abomey, from the Togolese border in the west, to the Zou backwater in the east and between the Ouémé river and the Zou backwater its tributary, north of the Dassa hills.
It was at the end of the 18th century that the Mahi established their own kingdom and were the target of the slave trade before french colonizationin the late 19th century. The Mahi people were born from the oppression of the latter wanted to extend its borders.
In the department of the hills, the Mahi are located in the communes of Savalou, Ouesè Wogoudo, Glazoué and Dassa. On the side of the plateau of Agonlin, the Mahi are located in the communes of Covè, Zangnanado and Ouinhi. A small part of the Mahi is found in the commune of Ketou in the department of the Plateau.
The MAXIGBE HWENUSU association has its headquarters in the commune of Dassa, precisely in the district of Paouignan in the Wémè district.

PRESENTATION
Born on june 21,2021 in Paouignan, the MAXIGBE HWENUSU Association is non-denominational christian organization whose goal is to promote the Mahi language through biblical translation, litteracy, community transfotmation and the production of various works in the Mahi language.
